Manufacturing Engineer

Description:
Provide technical support for the Production Engineering Department. The Engineer must be able to develop documentation and procedures to ensure compliance specific to various company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Audits and recommends improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Production Engineering Department’s procedures and processes.
2. Manages and supports the implementation of enhancements to procedures, processes and operating tools.
3. Serves as a Liaison with various external departments for progress and maintenance of processes while ensuring they align with all other relevant procedures and communicate awareness of changes.
4. Interfaces with multiple functional groups including: Systems Architects, Supply Chain, Quality and Production Operations to develop strategies for implementation of engineering, system, and process improvements.
5. Identifies opportunities for improvement and standardization; documents and prepares initiatives for process and/or engineering change to reduce cost and increase quality.
6. Participates in activities to enhance and support HACI Production teamwork, and provide an environment for all team members to participate in CI (Continuous Improvement).
7. Provides technical support and assistance with the development and improvement of methods, quality product design, cost, and technical issues of a complex manner as required.
8. Analyzes a variety of engineering data to help determine requirements to meet objectives.
9. Plans and documents various installation processes, tooling, equipment and quality control methods to optimize the manufacturing operation.
10. Provides data comparisons between the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) to the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) to the “As Built”.

Education, Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
1. Bachelors' degree in Manufacturing Engineer or other related field strongly preferred.
2. In lieu of education one year of direct aircraft experience potentially may be substituted for each year of college.
3. 5+ years experience in aerospace industry in aerospace manufacturing.
4. Six Sigma Training (Minimum Green Belt Certification – highly preferred).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong analytical skills.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and/or specifications requirements.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Excellent problem solving skills.
5. Ability to work in a diverse environment.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
7. Some experience utilizing tools such as SAP, CAD CAM, CATIA, Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Lotus Notes).
8. Ability to multitask.
9. Strong organizational skills.
10. Working knowledge of aircraft assembly, sequencing and manufacturing flow.
11. Working knowledge of or exposure to Lean Manufacturing tools.
