Electronic Engineer

Electronic Engineer for one of our clients in Vancouver, WA.

Job Description:
Provide professional engineering expertise/assistance to engineering design and field personnel regarding all aspects of documentation:
Assist with the documentation of Telecommunication projects by providing scoping input for concept design documents and producing detailed design drawings, draft bills of materials, and draft statements of work
Review and disseminate all provided documentation of status reports by Field Engineers; may require facilitating project documentation efforts and providing documentation oversight.
Perform basic filing and document management.
Assist with Telecommunication equipment inventory maintenance.
Participate in teams to research and document existing telecommunication and related equipment, including wire tracing.
Mark up “As Built” prints for drawing development in CAD software, documenting anomalies and any pertinent issues.
Verify circuit data via company’s TCIS database (Telecom Circuit Information System).
Research and report on missing information from data sheets, recording appropriately.
Report weekly to company Manager, providing Field Engineer status updates.
Access energized facilities and radio station facilities for a general review of system configuration, spacing and rack layouts. (Requires Access Worker Permit, see page 4).
Facilitate and provide coordination for the design and construction of various facilities including project scheduling and estimating upon request and supervision of company manager/personnel.
With oversight and approval from company staff, prepare to scope input for concept design document, detailed design drawings, bill of material, or procurement specifications for equipment, verifying that technical tradeoffs have been considered and that decisions conform to existing policies and standards and are within budgetary constraints.
Prepare comprehensive final hardware design packages for assigned projects, including final detailed design drawings, draft statements of work (construction and contract), and all other documents for the telecommunication equipment installation, layout, wiring, and testing for review and approval by the company staff.
Participate in events at specific project sites, including scoping meetings, equipment installation, and testing phases.
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Telecommunications Engineering or a closely-related field is required.
Level 1 position: ½ to 4 years of experience in Telecommunications Engineering or closely-related field is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Microsoft Office 2010 proficiency required).
Technical Requirements:
Must know engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
Skill in oral and written communication to effectively fulfill client/customer/team requirements.
Experience or knowledge regarding managing and providing coordination for the design and construction of various facilities including project scheduling and estimating is desirable.
Experience or knowledge regarding the review and evaluation of design packages (including drawings, material certifications and submittals for conformance to the design specifications) is highly desirable.
Ability to analyze complex installations, facilities or structures using the latest techniques and applicable codes.

Obtain appropriate manager/personnel approval for all recommendations and drafted materials.
Ensure proper identification of self as a contract worker in all communications, correspondence, etc.
Additional Requirements:
The selected candidate will be required to sign a company Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of the contract assignment.
Offsite Work may not be performed without prior approval from the Client Manager.
All information associated with work performed offsite must be maintained in the company network environment. No company information will be allowed to be transmitted, stored and created, etc., on the contract worker's devices. Contract personnel must follow all company and government-wide security, asset management, and cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Offsite work may only be performed within the company service area unless approved by the Supplemental Labor Management Office (SLMO). Contract personnel must keep their employees informed of their work location at all times and must coordinate any changes with their employer and SLMO before the change occurs.
Approximately 20% local and overnight travel to field locations is required (PPE Required)
Up to 5% Overtime may be required
Frequent walking on uneven terrain.
Valid U.S. drivers license is required
First Aid/AED/CPR Certification required within 30 days of assignment start.
The worker/employer is responsible for maintaining current certification.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required for all field travel:
Must obtain and maintain an Access Permit (see the following appendix) as a condition of this assignment
ASTM F2413-11, Class 75EH rated footwear with over the ankle lace up and rigid sole and heel. Arc Flash-rated footwear requirements: The exterior of the boot must be made entirely of natural materials - all leather or a leather and rubber combination.
White Hard Hat required for Access Permit holder
Electrical and Arc Flash protective clothing and PPE as required by OSHA and consistent with company Safety and health policy for electric work inside and around company substation facilities (Occasional User - estimated usage 4 - 5 days per month)
Eye protection
Hearing protection
Dust Mask
Hand protection (work gloves) as needed.
Other appropriate/required PPE, as required by State or Federal OSHA for the work to be performed.
