Electro-Mechanical / Field Service Technician

Description:
* Will be part of a team responsible for a new Retro-Fit Project to update units manufactured over the years.
* Considerable amount of travel would be all over the continental U.S. with some international travel possible
* The Retro-Fit Systems will include some electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic skills.
* IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 or CIS IPC A J-STD-0001 Certifications (Current or Non-Current) are a plus

Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will join a team that visits various client sites to complete Retro-Fit work on past company units. Upon arriving onsite, you are expected to meet and greet the customer. Once on site an initial inspection and observation of the unit(s) will be conducted and documented using an inspection form; the customer will then signoff on the current state of the unit and give the authorization to complete the work. Kits of material, tools & equipment will be delivered to each locations in advance of each visit. The team will responsible for unpacking and inventorying the kits prior to beginning the retro-fit process. Upon completion of the process a final inspection will be completed / documented and the customer will sign off on the completed work. Lastly, each Retro-Fit Report, including the full scope of work and all signed paperwork / documents, will be organized and submitted to the Production Manager.

Job Description:
> Assemble electrical, electronic and/or electro-mechanical assembles, subassemblies or parts, as instructed in accordance to manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, schematic, etc.) into sub-units or complete units; wire electronic components, per manufacturing documentation, into sub-units or complete units
> Responsible for soldering and crimping connectors
> Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units, including sub-assembly, process assembly, inspection, modifications, upgrades and rework; also responsible for testing of all electronic assemblies
> Completes production/quality related documentation & performs work in accordance with quality / engineering standards
> Assembles repairs and fabricates parts by operating mechanical equipment or tools, in conjunction with adhering to proper handling and safety requirements (Cutting and Fabrication).
> Complete any other work related task as directed by supervisor

Job Requirements:
> 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing/production environment with High School Diploma
> Must have Requirements:
o Continuous lifting and moving of equipment. Up to 50 lbs.
o U.S. Citizenship
o Clean back ground for entry to government and military installations
o Clean driving background to rent vehicles
o Current US Passport or ability to obtain a passport
o Ability to drive or fly to location.
o Ability to complete expense reports
o Ability to speak with customers and represent the company
> Must have Electro-Mechanical experience with:
o Soldering (Cup solders)
o Crimping of various terminals (Barrel, Machine, MIL-SPEC, Various ring terminals, RJ 45, BNC)
o Schematic reading and comprehension (Mechanical and Electrical)
o Measuring tools (Calipers, Multi-meters, etc.)
o Hand tools (Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Torque tools, Small power tools)
