Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Aviation Field Engineer (Power Plant) for an opening in Huntsville, AL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Power Plant Technician is considered a premier aircraft systems, power plant, and propeller subject matter expert (SME) for the program. This position will be a Rover for the Program Management Office (PMO) and will interface with the field on behalf of the (PMO) for field matters relating to aircraft systems, power plants, and propellers.
The Power Plant Technician will be required to provide assistance to sites to resolve complex technical issues to include troubleshooting, aircraft configuration and capability, and coordination of engineering support.

The Power Plant Technician conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and technical directives.
The Power Plant Technician is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties and functions:
• Interprets and communicates requirements concerning AD’s, SB’s and SL’s, and SC’s.
• Supports field in interpretation of technical data to resolve aircraft systems and power plant discrepancies.
• Coordinates with sites to ensure that tasks are completed as scheduled.
• Communicate effectively with government customers, Client managers, site supervisors, and technicians in the field.
• Interacts collaboratively with all PMO functional areas including Fleet Management, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain Management. This may include communications ranging from daily verbal and email communication, in addition to the development of written processes and procedures.

This position requires heavy travel (up to 75%).

This position will work day shift, night shift, and/or weekend duty, as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Must possess a current FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certificate.
• Must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ recent hands-on engine and propeller maintenance experience.
• Significant Beech King Air model 200 and higher experience is required.
• Significant Hartzell and McCauley propeller experience is required.
• Significant Pratt & Whitney PT6, JT15D-5D, and PW535A power plant maintenance experience is required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with government customers, Client managers, site supervisors, and technicians in the field.
• Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required. Continental US (CONUS) and international (OCONUS) travel may be required.
• If scheduled to deploy OCONUS must be in good physical condition. Must be able to pass a required physical exam and CRC course for SWA.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English required to use technical manuals.
• Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications-read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.
• Must possess the demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external customers with tact and professionalism.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
• Must have a current civilian driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a passport (if requested) to support contractual obligations.

Physical Demands:
Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking and working in tiring uncomfortable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Must be able to travel to other locations requiring overnight stay.

Work Environment:
Environmental conditions are diverse and could range from an office environment where there is no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust and wind. Individuals may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards will prevail and hearing protection is required. Office work conditions will expend approximately 10% of the candidate's time and approximately 90% will be expended in more harsh conditions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Military or civilian engine technical schools and or certifications a strong plus
Beech King Air model aircraft, C-12, UC-35, or model 1900 systems and power plant maintenance experience is required. A strong background on the Beechcraft King Air military platform is a must.
• C-12, RC-12, UC-35 military aircraft platform experience is preferred.
• Experience in engine trend monitoring preferred.
• Engine heavy overhaul experience is preferred.
• Some experience in root cause corrective analysis (RCCA) preferred.
• MS Office experience is preferred (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• A strong background on the Beechcraft King Air military platform is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Army Aviation Forms and Records is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED; A higher level of education in a related field is preferred.

Fulltime
