Instrument & Controls Designer
•Associate's degree with eight (8) plus years of experience OR 10+ years of strong I&C design experience
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI or Intools) experience is highly desired
•Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
•Able to plan and execute work without extra oversight
•Knowledgeable in project schedules and budgets
•Oil & Gas Industry experience is desired
The Staff Instrument & Controls (I&C) Designer will be part of the engineering team working on I&C systems design for EPC projects in Oil & Gas industry. This position is to work in a team environment and produce instrumentation & controls design deliverables.
•Expert in using 2D AutoCAD and MicroStation
•Prepare designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with industry and/or client established design practices, standards, and procedures.
•Experience in 3D model development, preparation of construction deliverables like panel/building layouts, cable schedule, installation details, instrument index, instrument location plans, loop diagrams, and wiring/termination diagrams.
•Strong knowledge in field instrumentation and controls (PLC, DCS)
•Knowledgeable in reading other discipline drawings and vendor/supplier drawings
•Work effectively within I&C team and other disciplines, particularly Electrical and Piping
•Strong field experience, able to interface with construction personnel and provide resolution to field issues relating to I&C design work
•Conduct quality reviews (design checking) for I&C deliverables
•Able to coordinate design work for the off-shore (BMI) design team
