Project Manager - Intermediate

Description:

Responsibilities:

• Lead the cost, schedule and risk management reporting efforts for a billion dollar chemical manufacturing project
• Efficiently organize data from multiple sources and develop reporting/communication methods to drive transparency and clarity of key performance indicators
• Tailor reports /communications to a variety of audiences (Engineers, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Sr leadership). Must be able to understand the different expectations/needs for various people/groups to present information effectively
• Ensure accuracy of contractors data and maintain data reporting quality and consistency
• Provide ongoing optimization of the project reporting system/s and dashboards
• Be proactive and able to find process efficiencies across multiple business functions
• Track construction progress of key project activities and provide trend analysis to project leadership
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project. Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
• Maintain the project risk register and utilize the project team members to drive closure or risks and mitigation action items
• Support ad hoc requests from project management



Skills & Experience:
• Degree in engineering, business, construction management or similar discipline
• 5+ years of related work experience supporting engineers, project managers, construction managers or similar group/s
• Advanced skills in Excel & PowerPoint (pivot tables, formulas such as; vlookup, sumif, etc)
• Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills and ability to write clearly and concisely. Must be able to clearly communicate the health of the project (cost, schedule & risk) at any given moment
• Ability to tailor information, reports, and presentations for a variety of audiences (Engineers, Project Managers and Senior Management
• Exhibit high energy and the enthusiasm to work through issues providing creative solutions
• Proven ability to lead independently on complex project controls issues with superior interpersonal skills, creative solution and problem solving skills. Ability to think outside the box
• Ability to interact closely and frequently with site construction management and operations personnel while maintaining necessary levels of commercial awareness
• Experience using visual analytical reports / dashboards in software applications such as; Business Warehouse, Sharepoint, Deltek Acumen Fuse & Risk, is a plus
