PDS TECH is currently looking for a Liaison Engineer for our client in Orange County, CA
Job Summary:
Responsible for the industrialization process to ensure manufacturability (feasibility, repeatability, capability, testability of the product/process) and cost efficiency of the products
Summary of Duties:
§ As a liaison engineer :
§ Support the Industrialization process by providing inputs and comments which generates a robust and cost efficient design
§ Responsible of the integration of concepts such as Design to Cost, Design to Manufacturability and Design to Quality as early as possible in the design during development (for new or modified products)
§ Create and update all the deliverables of the industrialization process such as VSW, PFMEA, DFM, ….
§ Run the feedback loop from operations, quality and manufacturing engineering experience and data
§ Meet internal and external customer delivery deadlines
§ Propose and implement change/continuous improvement initiatives across design as an on-going activity
§ Support operations in changes/improvement of the manufacturing environment
§ To work in partnership and collaboration with all support functions
§ Demonstrate thorough understanding of the development phase and manufacturing constraints
§ Coordinate technical discussions between external suppliers and internal stakeholders, as early as possible in the design
Qualifications:
Level 3 Qualifications :
Education: BS in Industrial, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of related experience, problem solving skills (root cause analysis, etc.), aerospace or human assembly experience (no circuit board or medical assembly), Cosmetic or composite experience a plus
Computer Skills: Proficient with Windows Operating System®, Office XP®. Knowledge of Catia and Smarteam
Other Skills: Large knowledge in manufacturing constraints and good understanding of development phases. Analytical skills and proficient in data base use
