Aircraft Structural Mechanic/Structural Assembler (100) - TX

Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Aircraft Structural Mechanic/Structural Assembler (100) for an opening in Red Oak, TX.

Aircraft structural mechanics/assemblers make and assemble structures such as wings, fuselage skins and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as webs, doors, and stabilizers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Work assembly in proper sequence.
" Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, drawings, schematics, procedures and instructions, engineering dispositions and instructions, and customer specifications.
" Lay out and locate patterns for rivets, bolts and fastener holes, trim lines, and parts.
" Drill, shim, install, fit, fasten, align, adjust, and assemble structural components, skins, and honeycomb details using measuring equipment, calibration tools, hand and power tools.
" Drill and ream to specified tolerances. Drill close tolerance holes in composites.
" Mill rivets according to specifications.
" Torque and/or safety bolt according to specifications.
" Perform any repairs, rework, functional checks, and/or authorized changes.
" Drill and ream to specified tolerances.
" Seal parts and install fasteners "wet."
" Apply corrosion protection chemicals and touchup paint to bare metal of trimmed and sanded parts.
" Maintain clean, neat, organized and FOD free work area.
" Inspect own workmanship for proper installation and integrity.
" Conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
" Report deviations and nonconformance in the process or product caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, or any other issue.
" Approve and stamp acceptable assemblies; reject assemblies not meeting requirements.
" Process, verify, quality audit, and inspect assemblies, parts, and tooling.
" Maintain documentation and records.
" Use safety glasses, safety harnesses, respirators, boot socks, and other pertinent safety equipment 100% of the time.
" Use, handle, and dispose of hazardous material.
" Use basic computer systems and programs.
" Obtain & maintain training certifications as required
" Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
" Regular attendance required based on work schedule
" Work any shift

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
" Minimum 5 years of experience with aircraft sheet meta / structurall assembly.
" Experience drilling and reaming close tolerance holes and installing fasteners in integrally machined structures such as the G7000.
" Experience reading and applying information from blueprints, drawings, schematics, and other specifications to install assemblies, subassemblies, and/or subsystems.
" Experience using measuring equipment and calibration tools.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
" Experience laying out and locating patterns for rivets, bolts, and fastener holes, trim lines, and parts.
" Experience drilling, filling edges, shimming, installing, fitting, fastening, aligning, adjusting, and assembling structural components, skins, and honeycomb details using measuring equipment, calibration tools, hand and power tools.
" Experience torqueing and/or safety bolting according to specifications.
" Experience performing repairs, rework, functional checks, and/or authorized changes.
" Experience maintaining clean, neat, organized and FOD free work area.
" Experience inspecting and ensuring own workmanship for proper installation and integrity.
" Experience conducting quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
" Experience approving and stamping acceptable assemblies and rejecting assemblies not meeting requirements.
" Experience reporting deviations and nonconformance in the process or product caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, or any other issue.
" Experience maintaining documentation and records.
" Experience using safety glasses, safety harnesses, respirators, boot socks, and other pertinent safety equipment 100% of the time.
" Experience using, handling, and disposing of hazardous material.
" Experience using basic computer systems and programs.
" Experience obtaining and maintaining training certifications
" Ability to work in elevated and/or confined spaces as required.
" Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, twist, bend, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, work in awkward positions, and lift/push/carry a minimum of 25 pounds for 8 to 12 hours per day depending on work schedule
" Ability to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands
" Ability to perform simple grasping, power grasping, and fine manipulation
" Ability to use vibrating tools and perform torquing operations
" Ability to use power moving equipment
" Ability to tolerate performing repetitive tasks
" Hand/Eye coordination required. Corrective lenses may be used. Eye protection required in many instances. Color differentiation may be required.
" Ability to hear at the level required for positions.
" Ability to work around noise, chemicals, fumes, and dust.
" Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and other PPE as needed.
" Ability to work independently and accept responsibility for own quality and work
" Must read, write, speak & understand the English language
" Must demonstrate good reading comprehension and basic math skills
" Ability to work assigned schedule
" Ability to work any shift

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED

WORK HOURS:
4/10: 5am-330pm and 530pm-3am
3/12: 5am-530pm and 530pm-5am
