Construction Coordinator

• Responsible for the satisfactory conduct of construction operations and task accomplishments for the SMRP (System Modernization and Reliability Project) project segments in an economical, efficient and timely manner. Responsible for the overall installation workmanship of the projects. Provide customer communications during construction to optimize overall customer relationships.

• Provide daily work direction to SMRP underground cable installation contractors. May contribute to planning and work scheduling. Direct contractors regarding work methods, construction installation specifications, cut over and removal during each phase of construction for the project. Support the contractors when having to make construction changes through change orders. Responsible for the approval of contractor construction invoices and as built designs. Provide feedback on contractors work performance to immediate supervisor. Assist in resolving customer concerns/complaints. This person must reside in Northern Wisconsin during the construction season April through December (within the approximate area of the following counties: Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Oconto and Marinette).

• 40% Responsible for working with SMRP contractors and Company employees on the scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity. Ensures contractors adhere to company work
procedures, construction standards and construction plans.
• 20% Provides technical and operational assistance; determines and recommends solutions to construction discrepancies. Reviews plans specifications, drawings and schedule to determine work phases and work priorities.
• 20% Inspects field work to evaluate construction progress, efficiency of operation and cost control.
• 10 % Communicates with customers, contractors, governmental units and others during construction to optimize overall customer relationships.
• 10% Completes forms and records, as required.

• 1+ year’s experience – Informal leader
• 1+ year’s experience – Organizing, coordinating or managing specific jobs or projects
• 5+ years experience – Technical experience in the electric distribution utility industry

Skills/Requirements candidates must have on resumes that the hiring manager is looking for:
1. Contract Management – the ability to direct contractors regarding work methods, installation standards and specifications, proper use of pay lines for construction.
2. Electric System Distribution Familiarity – provide technical and operational assistance to contractors, complete walk-throughs prior to construction with contractors to finalize locations of facilities, inspect field work for quality of installation and compliance with specifications, etc.
3. Tracking of progress, approval of change orders, completion of paperwork and records (online), familiarity with software such as Unifier.
4. Communication with team members regarding the project status as well as customers and local governmental leaders regarding impacts of the projects.
5. Technical experience in the electric distribution utility industry is considered a plus!
The person will be required to travel every day to jobsites within their assigned districts. They would be located out of either Rhinelander or Wabeno.  They could be assigned to Minocqua, Rhinelander or Wabeno district.  Also on occasion they will be required to travel to Green Bay for meetings.  This job is a heavy travel position as the jobsites are located all over the district they are assigned too.
