Intermediate Design Engineer

Description:
Our client, North American’s leading manufacturer of Heavy-Duty Transit buses in the U.S. and Canada, is looking to find the right talent for a new position:

Intermediate Design Engineer
Anniston AL
2018-7022

Join our team as an Intermediate Design Engineer to complete complex design tasks, Bill of Material releases, and projects from concept to implementation in production. This includes all related design activities, calculations, communications, drawings and Engineering Change Notification (ECNs).

Responsibilities:
• Complete design tasks and project assignments which support production activities.
• Coordinate own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time on each task.
• Create designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
• Ensure compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations.
• Complete or initiate controlled testing of components and installations in order to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
• Complete technical drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action).
• Provide Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
• Interact with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensure that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
• Check Engineering Documents & ECNs

Qualifications:
• Strong CAD/ Unigraphics, Drafting.
• Strong team work, problem solving and communication skills.
• Able to work independently.

Preferred:
• NX(Unigraphics), Teamcenter, Matlab/Simulink, Solidworks, Fortran, Mathcad, LabVIEW
• Mechanical Design, Experimental Testing/Research,
• Data Processing and/or Analysis

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5-10 yrs. experience.
• Or, Master’s degree with 2 or more years of experience.
