CO-OP College Student Software Engineer - TX

Chipton-Ross is seeking a CO-OP College Student Software Engineer for an opening in Arlington, TX.

As a Software Engineer Co-Op, the employee is expected to perform in a production team role in the development of training systems, specifically in the areas related to database paging, flight simulator out-the-window and sensor scene rendering, networking, interfacing with platform simulation applications, and general system-level integration and troubleshooting. The candidate should be able to follow direction of lead engineers, complete work with only general technical direction and work in a team environment. The candidate should also be able to communicate status/issues along with solutions/recommendations to lead engineers. The Software Engineer Co-Op will update / develop software support documentation as required. This position requires assisting in the development of technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions must be imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organizational objectives and processes.

Junior or Senior year of college working towards degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
Experience with Linux Operating System, C++, and networking
Working knowledge of the software and simulation/game development cycle
Excellent demonstrated technical writing, presentation, and communication skills
Ability to effectively work across disciplines and achieve consistent quality results
Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills
Proactive in removing barriers for team
Adaptable as business environment changes resulting in responsibility and technology changes

Experience integrating gaming technology with simulation host computers
Shell scripting, TCP/IP networking, OpenGL, Physics Engines, and knowledge of visual terrain and cultural database tools and technology a plus
C/C++, Linux

Accredited High School Diploma/GED

Needs to be able to give 4 continuous hours a day at least 3 days a week (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8AM and 7PM. This site is on a 9/80 work schedule so they are closed every other Friday
