Description: General Summary: The Industrial Engineer leads process optimization efforts to address specific business requirements and to eliminate waste from Assy process, reducing costs, improving quality, and improving customer satisfaction. This position provides technical support for the Production Engineering Group working in areas such as manufacturing, design, development, and testing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads process optimization efforts to address specific business requirements and to eliminate waste from Assy processes.
Provides time studies, capacity analysis (manpower, tooling, capital, and facilities), line balancing, and crew loading, work sampling, and PC computer data analysis.
Collects and analyzes data and metrics and presents the information to large audiences.
Establishes manpower requirements, line and sub-assembly balancing data, and expectancy time performances, headcount planning, and budgeting concepts.
Recommends improvements to manufacturing methods and processes including utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
Provides productivity planning with accompanying future strategies for improvement.
Develops and maintains engineered time standards.
Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing assembly processes, labor requirements, and production standards.
Develops and maintains plant standards.
Creates and maintains valve stream maps.
Plans, schedules, and prioritizes work to meet established deadlines.
Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and work centers to optimize material flow, labor efficiency, safety, quality, productivity, and ergonomics.
Determines and improves processes to meet production levels.
Schedules and sequences job plans (with ME approval) to support effective work flow.
Supports work specific to detail parts manufacturing and assembly operations of composite and metallic aerospace hardware within a manufacturing environment.
Develops documentation and procedures to ensure compliance specific to customer and regulatory production requirements and specifications.
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
5+ years experience in aerospace industry in aerospace manufacturing.

Knowledgeable of various manufacturing principles, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and physical sciences to review detailed designs and drawings.
Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
